There are clients who have money. Others don’t. And there’s a third type.

Actually, as I found, owners of sussessful business don’t worry about big spendings - positive balance, so all fine. They can hire finops, if budget allows. But there are other funny stuffs, finops engineers can confirm.

Owners of dying business… I think they don’t have money and time to stop and cut costs properly.

Owners of the “so-so” business, not dying, and far from thriving. The most uncomfortable type of clients. They want everything of that for free.

I wrote post about it. They were thinging almost a year, decided to do.

Spent a week for them, thoroughly checked everything, created a clear effective report: “If you confirm from your side that this k8s cluster not needed (I’ve checked - there is no traffic, no dns, no data), we can cut half of your spendings. Here, here and there - almost half of half left”

“At this point, this your audit for us - only spending, no benefit. This should be done as part of our existing devops support contract.”

Oh, come on.
